The Guest House

View from one of the Suites    The fifteenth century Villa, Al Pastore, sits on a high terrace overlooking the gardens of Villa Massei and the distant Apauan Alps. Recently restored, it is rented as a single unit only, offering two deluxe double bedrooms, private and independent of each other, with full baths, showers and tubs. Both suites have satellite TV.
There is a large sitting room with antique furniture from Lucca's neoclassical period, and the modern, eat-in kitchen offers a gourmet range, microwave, and a complete fitting of essential domestic appliances. There is telephone service throughout, and a fax.
The separate laundry room has a washer and dryer and ironing facilities. The house has its own independent access and parking.
The Kitchen   The adjacent 52-foot swimming pool is surrounded by arbors under which one can dine al fresco, and the cottage's private garden terrace includes an additional outdoor dining area. Maid service is supplied twice a week and a chef can be brought in for traditional Tuscan fare.
Al Pastore is available throughout the year as it is winterized and heated. January is a particularly beautiful time here, sunny days and temperatures in the 50s. Spring begins in February when the bulbs begin to bloom and the camellias are in flower. Easter, Christmas and the New Year are also great times to come when you can enjoy all of Italy’s cultural offerings without the competition of high The Livingroomseason vacationers.
